Peanut Butter & Mashed Banana Homemade Dog Treats - Do you have leftover bananas the kids won't eat? Use them in this recipe.

Preheat Oven: 300 degrees F - Prep Time: 25 m - Cook Time: 35 m

What You Need

  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1 egg white lightly beaten for brushing the biscuit tops
  • Greased baking pan
  • Cookie cutter
  • Rolling pin

Step 1 - Preheat oven and lightly grease a baking pan

Step 2 - In a medium bowl, stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey until well blended. Add the flour and wheat germ, blending well. Turn the dough out onto a floured board. Roll until it is 1/4 inch in thickness.

Step 3 - Using the cookie cut, cut into desired shapes and place on prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with lightly beaten egg white.

Step 4 - Bake the biscuits until they are dried out and are a golden brown in color (about 30 minutes, depending on their size). Remove from oven and cool on wire baking rack.

Featured Ingredient - Bananas
This tropical fruit is loaded with potassium, manganese, biotin, vitamins B6 and C, fiber and copper. Bananas are also low in sodium and cholesterol. However, they do tend to be high in sugar, so keep these treats as just treats.
