GO BLUE Raiders! Here's my Tailgate Tip for the Blue Raider Football Tailgate as the MTSU Blue Raiders take on Western Kentucky! This is a slighty more detailed version that I will use on todays pre-game tailgate show.

Who the heck is Henry Bain?

Henry Bain was one of the first employees and eventually a head waiter at the Pendennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky. The club was founded in 1881. Henry is credited with creating his namesake sauce for steaks and the local game animals brought in by members for preparation.

Numerous recipes for homemade versions have circulated for years and are still widely used. In 2009, the club began bottling and selling the original version. As demand increased, the club partnered with a local food distribution company to sell the sauce at local stores and Kroger supermarkets in the Louisville area and online.

Now the sauce is a staple for Derby Day events and tailgating in Kentucky!

Henry Bain Steak Sauce

  • 1/3 cup mango or peach chutney
  • 4 tablespoons of your favorite steak sauce.
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.
  • 4 tablespoons chili sauce.
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup.
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • Hot sauce, to taste.

Combine everything in a sauce pan, heat up, and serve on hot and juicy steaks!
