This recipe is a quick and easy spicy mayonnaise that can be made with ingredients straight from the fridge!

Sometimes you need something besides plain mayo on your burger! Why not grab some chopped jalapeno, chili powder, a few dashes of other ingredients and add some bonus flavor? I suggest using chopped jalapeno from the grocery - you can generally find it located near the pickles. We have a jar of this in the fridge almost all of the time.

As for the spices? Well, the sky is the limit - it all depends on what your pantry is loaded with. My go to are basics for some background flavor such as a dash of garlic and onion powder. Then, I start looking for a few other things to add some more "burn" to the mayo.

Jalapeno Chili Mayonnaise

  • 1 cup mayo
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped jalapeno (not sweet jalapeno relish)
  • Dashes of garlic, minced
  • Dashes of chili powder (Cajun or Creole as well)
  • Squirt of hot sauce

Combine everything in a bowl, mix well, chill before serving!

Finish off with a couple of extra dashes of seasoning on to, and bonus jalapeno pieces for looks! And, as always, if you plan on working with fresh jalapenos - be sure to wear gloves!
