A Cookie with a Paranomal Twist - Well, actually... there is no paranomal twist to this tasty cookie. The recipe however does come from Lawna Mackie who happens to be an author of paranomal books.

Lawna Mackie is a paranomal romance writer from Didsbury, Alberta Canada. Lawna spends her time writing and enjoying life with her husband and companions, Dozer, Daisy and Mandarin. She has a love for the mountains, water and spending time with her husband whom she refers to as her "Knight in shining armour."

Lawna says that she has always believed in fairy tales and loved reading them as a child. "There were typical heroes and heroines but from untypical worlds." She also enjoyed making up her own stories with happy endings and developed a passion for romance novels. As an adult she picked up her first paranomal romance novel and was almost left speachless. It seemd as if fairy tales had merged with romance novels. "An injustice would be done if I tried to explain my joy when I found this genre of romance!".

Here is a colorful Christmas cookie recipe that I think is great! Note that I use the fancy flake sweetened coconut so I only use about 2/3 cup white sugar so they are not too sweet.  Also, I used the holiday rice krispies - that's where the red and green comes from. I hope you enjoy it! - Lawna Mackie
